Neverwinter employs many types of currency for various purposes
Neverwinter has, by far, the most convoluted and complicated economic system in any game I have ever played. If there is one major failing of Neverwinter, it is the many various levels of currency in the game for every one of their needlessly complicated divided classes of items and gear. You can basically play all of Neverwinter, which is cool, but you will soon realize that there is little to no way to get around dropping at least a little cash on the game if you want to get your hands into every piece of Neverwinter.

Neverwinter employs many types of currency for various purposes. Neverwinter Copper, Silver, and Gold is the basic currency obtainable almost everywhere. Neverwinter Astral Diamonds is special time gated currency obtained through limited means such as diety prayer by a campfire every hour once level 16 is obtained. Also from special daily quests given in most areas. Neverwinter Zen is the in game proxy for real life currency. Zen facilitates Neverwinter Free-to-Play model. It can also be obtained wih a AD to Zen exchange of 1 Zen to 389 AD and varies from there

It’s pretty easy to use. You just pick the currency you’d like to receive and the one you’d like to spend and let the tool handle the rest. Unregistered users won’t be able to pick Astral Diamonds by the way. That option needs data from our Auction House tracker that can only be unlocked as participant of our so-called gold program. It’s a crowd source model for the PC version of the game in which you have to supply a little bit of the data yourself. Other than that, the tool is fully functional even for unregistered users.

There are a lot of questions new players have and new forum threads are still being created asking what the experienced Cryptic Studios game players consider basic information. However, we all had to start somewhere, so I thought I’d put together this post. The following information generally applies to all Cryptic games, which currently include Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter (NW), Star Trek Online (STO) and Champions Online (CO). All of Cryptic Massively Multiplayer Online games, like most others, have an in in game economy. This little F. A. Q. is to help you understand the Cryptic economic paradigm and how it works so that you can spend (or save) your currency wisely.
